Advanced presbyopia correction solutions - a new era in refractive surgery
Technolas Perfect Vision will market innovations that will define a new era in the refractive surgery business, by targeting the lucrative presbyopia market.
Technolas Perfect Vision will provide clinicians with advanced excimer and femtosecond laser technology designed specifically to restore near vision in those patients who have lost the ability to visually accommodate. A comprehensive service and support structure is already in place to provide surgeons with training and applications support as they adapt their clinics to service this exciting new patient segment.
Technolas Perfect Vision introduces two new approaches to the correction of presbyopia: INTRACOR™, the revolutionary procedure for the intrastromal correction of presbyopia with its Technolas Femtosecond Workstation, and PresbyLasik, where presbyopia correction is carried out by the Technolas ZYOPTIX® laser.
Most exciting is INTRACOR, a fast and painless truly intrastromal procedure that restores near vision, freeing patients from the need to wear reading glasses or multifocal contact lenses.

Technolas Perfect Vision at the ASCRS
The American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) congress took place in San Francisco from the 3rd to the 8th of April 2009. This was the first refractive international congress Technolas Perfect Vision (TPV) had attended. TPV used this opportunity to present itself to the refractive community and its new and revolutionary procedure for presbyopia correction: INTRACOR™.
INTRACOR™, a flapless minimally invasive procedure that restores near vision in just a few seconds, recently underwent the EC Conformity Assessment, and received the CE Mark for the treatment of presbyopic hyperopes.
The TPV booth, designed by incorporating dynamic blue and orange waves, that symbolizes the joint venture, was one of the most visited. The TPV corporate brochure, Introducing the company’s vision and portfolio was distributed at this Congress. TPV’s next international congress appearance will be at the ESCRS 2009 that will be held in Barcelona, Spain. TPV will organize a Lunchtime Symposium focusing on Presbyopia Advanced Correction Solutions: PresbyLasik and INTRACOR™. For further details, you may download the symposium program: TPV ESCRS 2009 Lunchtime Symposium Program.

INTRACOR™ - a new approach to vision correction
Technolas Perfect Vision is introducing innovative solutions for the correction of presbyopia. One of the most exciting is INTRACOR, a new fast and painless intrastromal procedure. INTRACOR restores near vision in less than 20 seconds without any flap creation, freeing patients from the need to wear reading glasses or multifocal contact lenses.
INTRACOR is the technique that provides flapless intrastromal correction using the Technolas Femtosecond Workstation, to achieve reshaping of the cornea. This can be achieved while maintaining the integrity of the corneal surface. INTRACOR procedure is an effective solution for presbyopia, and it also provides a minimally invasive technique for myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism.
Vision correction is now possible in the least invasive way imaginable: purely intrastromally, without flap.
Learn more about INTRACOR in the next TPV.news issue.
